Consumer Duty

Last update:

Our Commitment

Consumer Duty is a key regulatory initiative introduced by the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) under Principle 12 to ensure firms act to deliver good outcomes for retail customers. Although Fondy Ltd operates exclusively in the B2B sector, we are committed to upholding the highest standards of conduct across the distribution chain in line with the FCA’s expectations.

We align with the Duty’s three cross-cutting rules by committing to:

  • Acting in good faith towards retail consumers by maintaining transparency, integrity, and professionalism in how we structure and deliver our services to corporate clients.
  • Avoiding foreseeable harm by identifying and mitigating risks within our product design, onboarding processes, and operational oversight.
  • Supporting retail consumers (through our clients) in pursuing their financial objectives by offering secure, compliant, and fit-for-purpose payment solutions.

Who We Are

Fondy Ltd is a UK-licensed Electronic Money Institution (EMI), authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) under Firm Reference Number: 900705. We provide a range of regulated services to corporate clients, including:

  • Payment Accounts
  • E-money Accounts
  • Acquiring and Gateway Services
  • Confirmation of Payee (CoP)
  • Cross-border Payment Solutions
  • API integrations for real-time operations

We do not provide financial services to individual consumers. Our clients are licensed businesses, including marketplaces, payment institutions, and regulated financial service providers.

If you are an individual consumer with a question about your transaction or account, please contact the financial services provider with whom you have a direct relationship. Fondy does not onboard or contract with retail customers directly.

How Our Products Meet the FCA Consumer Duty Standards

All Fondy products and services are developed with the following principles in mind:

  • Clarity and Transparency: Product documentation is tailored to meet the information needs of our business clients.
  • Appropriate Target Markets: Each service is restricted to corporate clients only and assessed for suitability and alignment with regulatory permissions.
  • Proportionality in Design: We assess whether our services could create risks to end customers (i.e., the customers of our corporate clients) and work with our partners to manage those risks.
